Technical High School, or "Tech" as it was called, was one of a number of vocational high schools built in the early 20th century. This building opened in 1915; it operated its vocational program until 1954, after which the building served as a junior high school and, in 1976, as The Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts. The athletes are wearing the soft leather helmets made in the 1910s, possibly Goldsmith brand. Helmets were optional during games until the 1930s.
